Meet Renee

My name is Renee and I'm the face behind City Girl in Third.  I am currently headed into my 12th year in the classroom and my 11th year of teaching.  I can not believe its been that long!  I made it past the 10 year mark!  What a great accomplishment.

I currently reside in Atlanta, GA and I'm a 3rd grade Math and Science teacher.  I have taught 2nd, 1st, PK, 1st, 3rd, 1st and back to 3rd...in that order.  For many years I have taught lower elementary and I fell in love with the little ones.  While I absolutely adore them, I must say that I truly love the curriculum and daily conversations that comes along with teaching the "big kids".  I'm so thankful for this opportunity because it is definitely adding to my learning experience.

I am a fun, loving teacher originally from Washington, DC who loves to laugh, learn and teach.  I'm mom to my adorable mini me who is now a 3rd grader.  She's just growing so fast.  *tears*

When I am not in the classroom, I am spending quality time with my daughter.  We have adopted a new hobby which is roller skating. Fun! Fun! Fun!  I love going to the park, the beach, going for walks with my snicker doodle (my daughter) and creating things for my classroom.  My daughter and I both love to shop (she get it from me :-), I suppose).

I opened my TeachersPayTeachers store in the June 2012, after a co worker told me to post some things on there that I made.  I was a bit intimidated so I didn't post anything until January 2013 as a basic seller because I was still a bit intimidated.  In August, my intimidation went away when I made my first $200 so I became premium and the rest is history.  I specifically make things for my own classroom, as well as classroom decorations.  I currently teach Math and Science and love to create stations, activities and fun engaging labs for my students to use.

I am continuing to grow and learn in my profession and I'm falling in love with it more and more every year.  I look forward to sharing my journey with you as a mother and a teacher.

Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram & Pinterest as they are the best places to find out about new products, sales and updates!
